Now in their eighth year, the awards run by the Surrey Advertiser mark the success of organisations, both large and small, that help give Surrey its reputation for being the engine room that drives the nation.
NCDV were nominated for Mental Health and Wellbeing showing continued support of their staff, reducing work related stress and promoting emotional health and well-being in the work place.
Every employee has a voice, but it’s not always heard. The National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) understand that if staff feel undervalued, underappreciated, or overlooked, they’ll look for opportunities elsewhere. In 2015 NCDV launched the Employee Development Project. Since the project commenced they have seen a reduction in staff turnover, offered more succession opportunities and maintained a happy workforce.
Head of Operations Mark Groves said: “It’s absolutely fantastic, we have many staff who work for us and we try as hard as we can to look after them as best we can. Hopefully, now this award will show everybody outside our organisation that we really do look after everybody who is inside. We help people who are victims of domestic violence and we do that well because we have innovative ideas, technological solutions and above all great staff.”
