Police & Agencies
Our Civil Injunction Service
NCDV helps people obtain emergency civil protection orders against domestic abuse. These orders can help prevent further abuse and give the police a clear basis for action if an order is breached.
We accept referrals from police forces, public services and voluntary organisations across England and Wales. Individuals can also refer themselves.
Our Not-For-Profit Status
NCDV is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company. We operate one of the largest pro bono legal support services in the country, ensuring that financial circumstances do not prevent people from seeking protection. Our national service provides a consistent and reliable referral pathway at no cost to the person seeking protection or to the referring agency.

ASSIST police database
NCDV created and maintains ASSIST, a nationwide injunction database for the police. It provides authorised officers with prompt access to injunction information after an order has been served.
Training for professionals
We provide free one-hour sessions explaining domestic abuse protection orders, how they can support people at risk and how to refer to NCDV. We also offer wider professional training on domestic abuse and coercive control for frontline professionals, employers and trade union representatives.
Access information and guidance
Our website provides practical information about domestic abuse, coercive control and civil protection orders.
Order free promotional materials
Police forces, agencies and other organisations can order free NCDV cards, posters and other materials to help explain and promote our service.

Engagement & Partnerships
We value strong working relationships across the domestic abuse, safeguarding, legal and academic sectors and welcome opportunities to improve how we work together.
