We are producing a series of Big Data Reports to share evidence-based insights drawn from one of the largest collections of survivor witness statements ever analysed in the UK. By turning lived experiences into data-driven evidence, we aim to shape better policy, training and frontline responses to domestic abuse.
Our analysis of more than 64,000 civil protection witness statements offers an unprecedented view of the risks, patterns and realities faced by those experiencing abuse. The findings expose how coercive control takes many forms, from threats to harm loved ones or pets to the misuse of drugs, weapons and finances. Each report will focus on a specific theme, highlighting key insights that can strengthen the collective response across the sector.
Through this work, we want to bring survivor voices to the forefront of research and practice, giving professionals, policymakers and partners the knowledge needed to strengthen prevention and protection efforts.
Our goal is simple: to make domestic abuse socially unacceptable. By sharing real evidence from those who have lived through it, we can work together to create lasting change and safer futures for everyone.
