The Sharan Project is a national registered charity that supports women online, specifically South Asian women who have been disowned/excluded from their families or communities as a result of abuse or persecution, this includes, but is not limited to forced marriage, honour abuse, dowry violence, domestic abuse and other forms of harmful practices. Our IDVA/ISVA/Client Advisors provide free impartial, confidential and culturally sensitive support, advice and information on a range of key life skills. Our aim is to empower, educate and inspire women who want to learn more about the options and choices available to them so they can make informed decisions about their future.
We are also the lead delivery partner for the Employers Domestic Abuse Covenant (EDAC) which supports all women affected by abuse to enter or re enter the workplace. This is the 3rd UK Government supported Covent (following the Care Leaver and Armed Forces Covenants) and the first to address domestic abuse. www.edacuk.org
