STORM Family Centre is located in the centre of a council estate in Battersea in the borough of Wandsworth. We have worked in this area for over 17 years. During this time, we have supported adults with getting back into employment, get into training and gain qualifications, as well as providing work experience opportunities for single parents that lead to job opportunities. We also work with young people aged 7 to 25. Young people that are involved in gangs, gun and knife crime and those who are classed as NEET. We provide a youth service 3 nights a week as well as running an annual event, The Peace Concert, which offers information, support and positive opportunities for young people to access. We offer a number of different services that address supporting vulnerable and marginalised people back into society. Our service users often feel alone and unsupported to fully take control of their lives. Storm is the first platform to helping them regain focus to take back control of their lives.
STORM’s aim is to provide support and empowerment to open new doors for people, we encourage people to not let their current situation speak to them, to work with the skills they have and build on the skills they need. Our motto is “Out of the Darkness and into the Light”. We provide a wide range of services to support people on their journeys forward, as we work with a wide range of people from all backgrounds and walks of life. We realise not everyone is on the same path and come with a multiple of different issues.
