RISE is a Sussex-based charity that supports people affected by domestic abuse and violence: men, women, LGBT+ people, minorities and their children.
Founded in 1994, we began as two women with one landline telephone between them. By 2007 we were running two refuges, a busy helpline and a range of different services. We now have staff in community locations across Brighton & Hove and partner with abuse charities in East Sussex.
RISE stands for Refuge, Information, Support and Education. Our vision is freedom from abuse and violence, and with your help we can get closer to achieving this.
We enable survivors and their families to work towards freedom from the psychological stress, trauma, anger, anxiety and depression that so often stems from domestic abuse. It’s not just about supporting those who are affected now, but also those who have suffered in the past.
