IRISi

IRISi is a social enterprise established to promote and improve the health care response to gender based violence. Our flagship intervention, IRIS (Identification and Referral to Improve Safety), is a general practice based domestic violence and abuse training, support, and referral programme. The IRIS programme has a strong evidence base, is robustly evaluated, has clear cost benefits, and is cited as the best practice response to managing domestic abuse in a general practice setting. As at March 2020, over 20,500 patients had been referred to local IRIS programmes in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, and over 1,000 general practice teams had received IRIS training.
