FLAG DV is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse and violence by providing free family law advice appointments. Our service is available to anyone aged 18 or over living in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, or Hampshire.
We work with a team of fully qualified family law solicitors who offer free, impartial 30-minute appointments during business hours. These sessions are designed to help service users understand their legal rights, make informed decisions that are right for themselves and their families, and ultimately empower them to break free from the cycle of abuse.
Our solicitors can provide advice on a range of family law matters, including:
- Protection orders
- Separation and divorce, including division of assets such as family homes and finances
- Private and public children matters
- General court processes and procedures
- Mediation
- Litigation in person (self-representation)
- Legal aid guidance
In addition to legal support, we recognise that rebuilding lives after domestic abuse can be complex and often requires access to multiple services. We act as a bridge of support, helping our service users connect with other agencies and organisations that can provide further assistance for themselves and their families.
Court Support Service
In Berkshire, FLAG DV also offers a free court support service for individuals affected by domestic abuse who are attending Reading or Slough family courts. This service provides practical guidance, emotional reassurance, and moral support, either in person or remotely.
Referrals to this service are made by professionals only, and capacity may be limited due to high demand
