The Freedom Project is a specialist dog fostering service for people fleeing from domestic abuse. The service is completely free and confidential. The Freedom Project operates in Greater London and the Home Counties, East Anglia, Yorkshire, the North of England and Scotland. The project can offer between 6-9 months of temporary foster care, during which time the dog will be cared for in the home of a volunteer foster carer. All veterinary treatment is provided free of cost, and the Dogs Trust cover the costs of all essentials like food, bedding and toys. As the scheme is completely confidential, owners are unable to visit their dog whilst they are on the project, however they will receive regular updates on how they are getting along in foster as well as photos.
