Basis Yorkshire has had a specialist service for nearly 30 years to support female indoor and street sexworkers and sexually exploited women, supporting over 400 women across Leeds. Services offered include sexual health outreach, access to substance abuse services, specialist ISVA/IDVA support for those who experiencing violence including support with reporting of crimes, support for those wanting to leave sexwork,and support and liaison with the police for those at risk of exploitation or trafficking. We also have a specialist service that supports young people at risk of or experiencing sexual abuse and exploitation in Leeds. We facilitate an ex-service user peer support for low –risk ex service users. Through Basis Training we provide training for professionals and awareness raising in schools (secondary and now also primary).
Please note, all our services for adult women are Leeds based other than the ISVA service.
