Change of Status |
Given the recent proposed changes to the Legal Services Commission (“LSC”) funding criteria (as set out in the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill), The National Centre for Domestic Violence (“NCDV”) has changed its legal status to a private limited company.
This progressive change offers the former charity the best chance to secure its future by permitting outside investment. This will allow NCDV to develop its commercial training programmes and other work and thereby support its valuable activities (which includes the training of law students to act free of charge as a McKenzie Friend to clients who do not qualify for public funding, as well as our general Domestic Violence awareness campaigns).
