The NCDV Team

Home  About Us  The NCDV Team

The NCDV team is made of up of day-to-day operational staff, non-operational staff, hundreds of trainee laywers and other volunteers, dedicated trustees and a core management team. Though not everyone is shown here, we hope you find us all to be helpful and friendly.

Steve Connor

Steve Connor, CEO

Steve founded NCDV in 2002 (then the London Centre for Domestic Violence) and has since worked tirelessly to ensure its continued growth and development. He is a qualified barrister and experienced family law advocate. Steve recently accepted a Visiting Fellowship at City University London allowing him to obtain a doctorate. His other big passion is his dogs, Bingo and Bailey (see below).

Carol Wilson

Carol Wilson, PA to CEO

Carol is responsible for keeping our CEO busy, organised and always prepared for upcoming events. She takes care of many of the day-to-day matters, as well as overseeing longer-term projects undertaken by Steve. Carol's previous PA roles within Parliament and similar spheres have been invaluable to NCDV for establishing relationships with ministers, civil servants and numerous politicians.

Glynis Dunkley

Glynis Dunkley, Trustee

Glynis performed the role of Operations Manager prior to Mark Grove's arrival in 2008, having been with the charity since its inception in 2002. This experience within the Domestic Violence field has helped Glynis in her new position as a Trustee. As part of the NCDV Board of Trustees she provides NCDV with guidance and direction when important decisions arise.

Mark Groves

Mark Groves, National Operations Manager

Mark has responsibility for the day-to-day operations at NCDV. This includes managing the delivery of the NCDV case-building agency service, supporting the Process Serving Department and liaising with our national network of Panel Member firms of solicitors. Miraculously however the stress of it all never seems to show. Mark's biggest achievement thus far has been revising the NCDV case database.

Emma Wallace

Emma Wallace, Operations Manager

Emma used to work as a case worker and McKenzie Friend supervisor but has now been promoted to Operations Manager and works closely with Mark to help manage day-to-day operations. She is the first port of call for many, liaising with case workers, operational staff, clients, police officers, prison teams and more to ensure a speedy service is delivered to all. Emma's on-going legal training makes her a knowledgeable and irreplaceable component of the NCDV engine.

Kate Jones

Kate Jones, Call Operator

Kate is a trained call operator and performs various roles at NCDV. She was responsible for coordinating NCDV's work with other support organisations in the domestic violence field but has now chosen to focus purely on operating as a Call Operator in the First Steps Team. Kate is known for her constant optimism and overall affability.

Jacquie Draycott

Jacqui Draycott, Accounts Manager

Jacqui is responsible for managing the accounts at NCDV. She joined NCDV having worked as a credit manager for many years. Her experience and expertise within accounting has helped the charity make significant improvements. She is friendly, efficient and always helpful.

Matthew Hutton

Matthew Hutton, Call Operator

Matthew joined NCDV after completing his Legal Practitioners Course (LPC) at Guildford College of Law. This legal training and broader experience with the court system makes him an invaluable member of the team. Matthew is now working as a Call Operator and is also a very important member of the NCDV First Steps Team. During breaks from calls Matthew enjoys taking Bingo and Bailey for energetic walks.

Mads Willett

Mads Willett, Project Co-Ordinator

Mads is at the Centre as a business intern on a 12 month placement. His main task is to manage the many volunteers that help the Centre. Besides the volunteers Mads is responsible for all other business related tasks such as managing the website, creating newsletters and much more. We are happy that Mads has agreed to work part time at the Centre while finishing his Degree at Surrey University.

Anna Ballentine

Anna Ballentine, Operations assistant

Anna was recently hired as an Operations Assistant to act as a help to Emma and Mark and also undertake everyday tasks such as completing statements and paperwork. She is already familiar with the operations procedures and is fully trained to act as cover for Emma Wallace if necessary. We have no doubt that Anna will prove to be a great asset to the Centre.

Sarah Hiley

Sara Hiley, Call Operator

Sara is the newest Call Operator at NCDV. She is also part of the First Steps Team that deal with the initial call the Centre receives. She handles many calls every day and manages to communicate very well with the wide array of people calling the Centre.

Dominic Hoskins

Dominic Hoskins, Law Intern

Dominic was the first law student to complete a six-month work placement with us at the Guildford office as part of a new partnership between the University of Surrey Law Department and NCDV. He performed a wide range of tasks whilst with us, including legal research, administrative tasks, client management and court advocacy. As the first in a long line of future interns, Dom will always be one of the team.

Mustafa

Mustafa Hassan Ali, Law Intern

Mustafa is one of the new six-month interns working at the Guildford office, as part of the partnership between the University of Surrey Law Department and NCDV. He is one of the many law interns taken on at the Centre to complete the essential paperwork that is needed to complete the injunctions. During his short time at the Centre, Mustafa has become accustomed to the team very quickly and easily manages to complete all tasks set upon him.

Hannah

Hannah - Elizabeth Symonds, Law Intern

Hannah joined the Centre as an intern on a six-month placement. She has done a significant amount of cases and is more than competent dealing with Domestic Violence survivors. Hannah has taken on the training at the Centre well and is able to complete several cases each day and does so very professionally. The Centre will be sad to see her leave when she returns to her studies.

Charlotte Purves, Office & Agency Support

Charlotte is the newest addition to the NCDV team. She is the main point of contact for agencies and police regarding literature, such as posters, brochures, leaflets, mugs etc. Charlotte has been fully trained as a case worker and will be helping victims of Domestic Violence obtain injunctions when she has any spare time. We are very excited to have Charlotte join the team.

Bingo Bingo Boxer, Senior Staff Support Officer

Bingo is without doubt the favourite in the NCDV team, winning over just about everyone she comes into contact with. She does this effortlessly without rest or complaint. What Bingo has in looks she sadly lacks in brains however (as most Boxer owners will confirm), but none are better at raising team spirits after a long stressful day!

Bailey Bailey Boxer, Junior Staff Support Officer

Bailey is the newest edition to the Support Team. At only 10 weeks old Bailey makes everyone in the office smile office and is responsible for many rips in the wiring! Both Bingo and Bailey are excellent spirit lifters and help the team at NCDV to keep morale high. The whole team is looking forward to Bailey being successfully potty trained!
